farewell to 2007 [Nov. 1st, 2007|10:36 pm]

[music |TV]

oh 2007, I wish I could say I will miss you, but I really won't. You have not been very fair with me or my family this past year: what with my mom getting diagnosed with retinal degeneration in her only one good eye, my sister Jenny getting gout, Susan getting a kidney stone and bacterial infection, bacteria in my eye from my contacts(that hurt like a bitch, thanks btw) and my dad having a heart attack and quadruple bypass surgery four days before Christmas. Not to mention the other stuff: my apartment flooding AGAIN, our basement flooding AGAIN, Leo getting attacked and never seen again, writers strike, countless job interviews....shall I continue?

The only good thing that I can think of this year was me graduating from college and getting this shway laptop. Um...yeah. *sighs*

so goodbye 2007 you have been a really tough year to get through and I will not miss you whatsoever.

2008, please please please be nice to my family and friends this year. We've had a tough year and would like a little reprieve.

welcome 2008!!!!!

weekend [Oct. 15th, 2007|04:57 pm]

[music |"Misery business" Paramore]

Had a fun weekend with Kyra. We drank wine, ate dinner, bumped into some of her friends, and saw a really cool concert at symphony hall that had an organ piece(thats what she said) in it. Unfortunately we also watched the Sox game...the whole thing. *sighs* oh Red sox. But I am in love with Jonathan Papelbon...a pitcher. oooooh he's pretty.

I also saw Laurel today, it was alot of fun we had lunch out and then I had her try on some tops from TJ Max because she needed some winter sweaters for her work. I hadn't realized how fun it is trying on clothes with friends, we rarely do it for some reason. When we go to the mall we tend to go into bookstores(and read erotic stories outloud) or try on dresses. We never really go shopping for casual clothes. But she got some very cute sweaters and she seemed pretty happy with her findings. I am right now addicted to the band paramore...great songs and very catchy lyrics.

I also just realized with Kyra last night that its almost been two years since our whole group has been able to see each other which is really sad. We need to see each other soon guys! C'mon I miss all of our goofy-ness!

Alrighty, I am off...I am really tired(and probably pmsing beyond compare) so I shall ttyl when I am more coherent.

I had a really good time this weekend, yay for friends!

plastic surgery [Oct. 12th, 2007|01:57 pm]

[music |TV]

Alright, so I am right now watching this show on MTV about plastic surgery obsession. Can I just say, that humans are so fucked up? How can we be so vain about our bodies? Considering our bodies falls apart eventually...what is the point of "perfecting" ourselves during the mean time? They now have a surgery that shortens your toes so you can fit into more stylish shoes?! WTF?! Don't you think that we should make shoes that fit all kinds of feet...not just a certain type? I mean c'mon...they're shoes! Another new surgery is to aesthetically enhance your vagina....YOUR VAGINA? Could that possibly mess up your ability to urinate, give birth? It just sounds like a completely useless procedure that could possibly be dangerous and physically harmful. Why do we as women need to be embarrassed about something so personal?

This other woman has gone through surgery like 50 times, 45 of the times was corrective surgery because her initial plastic surgery were such screw ups. But get this, this woman still believes in plastic surgery and is willing to do more because she believes it makes people look beautiful.
I really think that they need to psychologically interview people before they get any kind of surgery done to make sure they don't have any deep seeded insecurities or addiction personalities.

They also stated that many dentists are able to do liposuction in many states without a license. I'm sorry, but I thought dentists work on teeth not fat.

I am really sad by the way our society is looking at women: from the style magazines, to commercials, to surgery, to celebrities...how in the world can we be happy with our own bodies when all of the media is telling us that not only are there so many ways to improve your body but also that there is always someone younger, prettier and thinner than you are?
Aren't we able to tell that not only does fame and fortune not make us happy, but popular beauty isn't all its cracked up to be either?

Sorry, this just really bothers me. I think it is really difficult to be a woman during this time...
Fucking people.

So I just noticed that I haven't updated this thing in over 2 months...whoops! Sorry about that. But most of you know whats going on in my life so it doesn't really matter. I dunno, I'm thinking of possibly getting rid of lj because I rarely update it now, and well...I procrastinate important things so I can read my friends page. Not that you guys aren't important to me, you are! I dunno, we'll see.

I'm way too lazy to update anything real here, so if you need to talk to me or hear about whats going on in my life email/call/IM me. I think thats enough ways of contacting me via technology. Hope you guys are doing well!!

love [Jun. 25th, 2007|10:17 pm]

[music |sleep MCR]

yesterday I went with a group of my friends from my high school to a celebration of life for Ariel Clark. Most of you know what happened to him, but to those of you that don't he and his father were in a car accident a few months back due to a drunk driver. Both he and his father died instantly.... it was something that could have been so easily prevented.

If you never met Ariel I feel sorry for you, because he was an exceptional soul. even though I never got really close to him I feel like he has made a huge impact on how I view life right now. His quotes and views on life that echo on after his death grant me a new perspective on my life.

Ariel in every respect marched to his own drum when he was alive, he told everyone in his life how much he loved them, and was never ashamed of telling them his feelings. Ariel followed all of his passions, and allowed them to take him to new and exciting places. He loved everything that he was doing, and didn't apologize for who he was. Most people dream or wish of being this kind of a person, but Ariel completely embodied what only most of us fantasize about.

I don't want to continue living in fantasy and regret, because one thing that everyone agrees on is that he lived without regret. He took life by the horns, but also stopped and appreciated it every chance he could get. His death is a true tragedy, but hopefully it will not be completely in vain.

Ariel, I will try to live up to your example. I can't promise to succeed because you were just too generous and loving in your lifetime, and I could never truly be like that. but I will try.

thank you for what you have giving not only me but your friends and family as well. I hope to see you in another lifetime where we can sit down and laugh about life for awhile. We'll be waiting for your return, it can't come soon enough.

P.S. I also wanted to tell all of you that I love each and everyone of you so very much. I don't get to say that enough, but I'm going to start doing it more often.

I have to say, the only real problem with this quiz is that they tend to be biased to what a nerd is. We are not all into computers or math people!

I am nerdier than 56% of all people. Are you a nerd? Click here to find out!

Oh well, farewell nerds!

[music |You make me smile-Blue October]

So I just realized that I haven't updated this thing in over a month, and I apologize for that. I've just been so busy/stressed out from stuff that I haven't had time to stop and update this blog.

I graduated last saturday! I can't believe I'm done, its a really surreal experience. I've never gotten comfortable with change and this is a huge change to overcome. I no longer have my apartment, which I miss terribly. I had everything just so and I really liked my privacy. I miss the twins even more, I miss seeing them everyday and discussing everything in our lives, I miss being able to go to the barn and visit everyone there. I had to say goodbye to my friends at the barn today, and it was very difficult. When I started giving Go-Go a hug I started crying in her stall, it was really difficult not to start sobbing but I held back because there were a bunch of people in the barn. *sighs* bye ponies, I will miss you.

All of my stuff is a disorganized mess, I don't I realized how much stuff I have until I have to move it! Too many clothes dammit.

I do have a shway new graduation gift from my sister though, and I'm typing on it as we speak! It's a sony VISTA laptop, and its gorgeous. Trust me people, you are going to see this laptop sooner or later; I'm too proud of it to hide it from anyone. Thanks again Jenny for such a great gift, you really did surprise me...nice job. Jody also gave me a really sweet and personal gift, it's a horse pin that belonged to her grandmother, who really loved horses. Yeah, I cried when I said goodbye to her too.

I hopefully will keep in contact with everyone from college, but I know it will never be the same. We won't have the same experiences outside of college ya know?
The memories I have will stay with me, as well as the friendships.

So I am just relaxing for a little bit, trying to collect my thoughts and hopefully start applying for jobs soon. If you are home or around, I want to see you ASAP DAMMIT. I miss everyone and want to spend as much time with you guys as possible!

Alrighty, I'm starting to get lazy typing this, so I am off.

Just remember that I love all of you, and I hope you know how precious you all are to me.

I think that the last post made 2007 take it as a challenge. Because in the last day my poor sister Jenny just found out she has gout in her ankle, and I fell off my friggin' horse in riding today. I was shaking and crying in the saddle afterwards, it was pathetic. So yeah...I should stop trying to taunt 2007, its seriously kicking my ass.
